Sommaire
Un détective, victime d'un accident qui l'a rendu sujet au vertige, doit prendre sa retraite. Pour rendre service à un ami, il accepte de suivre sa femme dont la conduite étrange pose plusieurs points d'interrogation. Il s'éprend bientôt d'elle, mais la malade lui échappe pour se suicider. Hanté par son souvenir, il croit la revoir partout jusqu'au jour où il rencontre une jeune fille qui lui ressemble étrangement..
Scottie Ferguson, a recently retired San Francisco police detective, is hired to shadow a friend's suicidal wife, Madeleine Elster. After he saves her from drowning in the San Francisco Bay, Scottie's interest in the beautiful but icy blonde shifts from business to romance. But when tragedy strikes again, Scottie must overcome the vertigo that haunts his dreams in order to unravel the secrets of the past and find the key to his future.
