Sommaire
As the title implies, the setting of Tom Paulin's political satire is the country house which used to be occupied by the Governors of Northern Ireland in the town of Hillsborough where, on 15 November 1985, the Anglo-Irish agreement was signed. The Hillsborough script is in the form of a series of dialogues involving representative figures from the current Ulster establishment scene - a secretary of State, an upright civil servant , senior police and army officers, pillars of the Loyalist community. They are drawn in lines about as flattering as those Gillray used to depict George IV.
